My Beauty Routine for Mature Glowing Skin

The key to beautiful skin throughout the seasons is hydration. Here are my go-to tips and products for creating glowing skin on a daily basis.

Prep and Prime:

I am an advocate for nourishing oils, no matter your skin type. Oily-dry there is an oil for you and these small nourishing bottles of skin joy are always my first step, everyday.

I personally love Sarah Dywer Rose or Blue Yarrow (the latter if I am having any flare ups)

Ere Perez Blue Cypress Face Nectar, Synthesis Organics Calm Elixir are also beautiful daily options.

For oily skin types I recommend a super light, dry oil, such as Emma Lewisham's Supernatural Face Oil or Aleph’s Serum Primer.

For active skin care lovers, I would then use your Vitamin C or Retinol serums, as these can make your skin sun sensitive, don’t skip your SPF step.

Moisturise:

Follow your prep and prime closely with a moisturiser - if you’re more on the dry side, like I am, I find Aleph’s ‘The One’ to be a velvety dream to really lock in the moisture. I also love Synthasis Organics Soothe Cream.

If you’re oily, Ere Perez, Moringa Beauty Creme is the perfect light hydration for all skin types.

Suncare:

In winter I thoroughly recommend a light sunscreen tint which can be used under your foundation or as light coverage. I am loving Aleph’s SPF Tint in Medium. I am also a fan of  RMS SunCoverup.

During summer months I often reach for an SPF50 and I enjoy Mother SPF 50 Mousse.

Cover:

For the best finish with a foundation I use a soft buffing brush and I work it into my hydrated skin. For a dewy radiance I can’t go past Ere Perez Oatmilk foundation and their Lychee Concealers, for oilier skin types I reach for Aleph Concealer/Foundation. If you have used a tinted SPF it generally means you can go a bit lighter on your foundation or just use a concealer where you need extra coverage.

Blush: A cream blush is your ultimate all-weather friend, add some dewy colour and radiance to your cheeks and if it’s multipurpose to your lips too. Axiology Multi Cream Sticks are my current favourite. I always use my foundation brush to apply my blush, a nice melding of the products happens to tailor it to your desired strength.

If you’ve gone too far with your hydration and you’re looking too juicy you can pull it back by applying the lightest touch of powder, any setting powder is fine by me.

Enjoy your hydrated glow!
